Dreamcast's launch three times as successful as PlayStation's

If only it was 1999 again...

Someone over at UK:Resistance has sent in a letter they received on December 15th, 1999. It says that the Dreamcast sold 500,000 units in two months, a number which took the PlayStation six months to achieve. This makes the Dreamcast's launch three times as successful as the PlayStation's.

The letter reads:
We are pleased to announce that Sega Europe has again made a record in the industry by achieving a sell-through of 500,000 Dreamcast consoles in the two months since its launch. It took Sony six months to reach the same level of sales when they launched PlayStation.

Let's go back to 1999 and buy more Dreamcasts so that it survives! Then when we come back in 2008 the Dreamcast 2 will be the most popular console on Earth. To the DeLorean!
