PlayStation site PSX Extreme says that Valkyria Chronicles could qualify as 2008's most under-appreciated game. This highly-praised RPG has been lost amidst bigger titles this year such as Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV, and has not received the recognition it deserves.
Despite frequently appearing in "best of" lists this year, the game has been mostly overlooked in the West. With a Metacritic score of 86, the game should not be ignored.
I would totally agree - lots of the bigger games this year have been over-hyped and disappointing. This game certainly deserves more attention.
