Sega helps develop cleaning robot

Tokyo University's robot department has developed a robot designed to do all of your cleaning. The imaginatively-named "Assistant Robot" can mop the floor, clean the kitchen and do the laundry, which is apparently its favourite chore.

Sega - along with Toyota, Panasonic and Mitsubishi - have helped make the robot. It can see in 3D and knows when a job has not been done properly so it can correct it.

Unfortunately these robot maids won't be mass-manufactured for another 10-20 years. And people in the '50s said we'd have them by the year 2000!
